👟 THE SCOOP
I have taken several barre classes in the past. Every single time I take one I am surprised at how many different muscle groups are impacted in a single class, and how quickly and easily I get the ‘muscle shakes’ (iykyk). My time at Barre3 Powell was no different. The class was broken down into several segments targeting different body parts and ended with a juicy stretch and cool down. Every single movement performed in class was explained with several modifications you could take, along with add-ons if you wanted something more challenging. This studio takes Covid and cleanliness really seriously. (Hello Bio Pure Columbus!) To minimize the amount of people in the building at one time, the doors are locked until fifteen minutes before class begins. They have numbered spots around the room to set yourself up, to ensure everyone has more than enough space to spread out. You can also opt to participate in the class via Zoom rather than come in person. And don’t worry, the instructors give those tuning in virtually just as much attention and encouragement as those working out in person with them. Also, due to Covid, there is no sharing of equipment in the studio so you must bring your own props. If you don’t have any tho, no prob. I did not bring anything and was still able to get a great workout in without feeling like I was missing out on anything. I don’t think this class was the *best* for those new to barre as there wasn’t too much instruction given pre class, but after a few sets it is easy to pick up on the moves and timing.
First class FREE
The studio itself is big and feels so light and airy because of the floor to ceiling windows. The others in the class with me seemed to all be regulars. It is obvious why Barre3 Powell has a cult following. It is such an amazing low impact workout with serious benefits. The fact that the studio is doing everything they can to ensure the safety and comfort of their members is the cherry on top!
